Seasonal Freebie and Valentine’s Day. I know some people might not love the love holiday, Valentine’s Day. And I accept that and all the legit reasons why that might be. But, I’m one to love and appreciate Valentine’s Day. If there ever was a reason to fabricate a holiday, why not for the sake of spreading love and friendship? Remember in elementary school when we handed out Valentine’s cards to all our classmates? How sweet and fun was that!!!?? I still remember those days! So, in the spirit of love and friendship, I created a small collection of friendship and Valentine’s cards. I even created a free printable card for anyone to download, print and snail-mail it to a friend or a lover…. Oooooh, loverrrrr. That word always sounds so naughty to me!! *** guffaws and giggles *** But let’s move on. All the cards (except the free one) are available on my shop on Fine Art America. Though it’s probably too late to purchase any and have them in time for this Valentine’s Day. But there’s always next year. And some are just appreciation and friendship cards. Not specific to Valentine’s Day. So you can send them out any time of the year you want to impart some affection.
More card designs to come. On the blog last month, I showed you guys a sneaky peek of some of the hand lettering I’d been working on. This was in preparation for some new card designs. I have not started those designs yet, but they are on deck…. Next on my to-do list. Those will also be available on Fine Art America in the near future. So stay tuned.
Zazzle and Society6. Oh the life of a creative entrepreneur is ever-changing. Never a dull moment. So earlier this month, I received notice from Society6 that they are changing their business model, and my shop will be sunsetted (is that a word?) by mid March. Yes, how rude. But I had already planned to closed down that shop because they had previously made some changes that didn’t work for me. And honestly, I don’t like the direction they are headed. So, while it’s sad to see that shop go after working it for four years, I have opened another print-on-demand shop on Zazzle. This is still under construction. I only have two products listed to sell on there. I’m still trying to figure out all the ins and outs of this site. But I’m excited that they have so many product options. Although, I think I will use Zazzle in a limited way, mostly for wrapping and tissue paper, and maybe cards and t-shirts. I haven’t totally fleshed out my thoughts on how to proceed with Zazzle. What products would you like to see on my shop?
Website updated. In the last two weeks, I put my nose to the grindstone and finally uploaded a sampling of new artwork to my website. My website really functions more like a place to showcase my artwork. Like a portfolio. I don’t sell anything directly from my website, but I do have links to all my shops. And it’s where I host this blog. So if you are reading this blog, perhaps take a tour of my new art and let me know what you think. I also have a private online portfolio that I show only to potential licensing partners. That portfolio also needs an update. But for that, I need new NEW artwork. Like I said, never a dull moment for the creative entrepreneur. Speaking of new artwork…..
SNEAKY PEEK 👀 👆🏽 …..Today I’m sharing a sneak peek of some of my doodles I’ve, well, doodled on the 75 Art workshop with Genna Blackburn. This workshop or challenge is supposed to encourage a daily drawing practice. But, low key, I maybe do it once a week. I try to catch up with all the daily prompts in one day. Even though I don’t do it on the daily, it’s not a complete failure since I am actually doodling at least once a week. Plus, I’m sure some of these doodles will eventually grow up to be actual illustrations or motifs for repeating patterns. It’s a win-win.
Y’all, always thank you for reading all the way down to the bottom! Sincere wishes for a Happy Valentine’s Day!! Now signing off…until next month. 💕 ❤️ 💝
