Thanksvember.

Thanksvember! It’s that month when we stop and think about all the things for which to be thankful. Every year, my daughters write a list, in no particular order, of all the things they are thankful for. Today, I’m going to follow their lead. I don’t have a verbose blog to write. I have a  thankful brain to dump. No judgement. No guilt. Here we go…. I’m thankful for…

People: Mamá, papá, Katia, Xoey, Lila, Joey, Big Joe, Babs, Kathy, Nancy, Kim, Fernando, Tommy, Jennifer, Scott, Dani, Roger, Rachel, Brian, Paul, other Paul, Stacy, Stacy’s mom (she had it going on :), Shelley, Lalo y Vangie, Lila y Uvaldo… extended families (living and passed) in Chile and Paraguay….

People I don’t know but have made a sizable impact in my life: Salvador Allende, Jimmy Carter, Paulo Freire, Jesus, Elvis, Amanda Arneill, Anne LaFollette, Bonnie Christine, Shayda Campbell, indigenous populations

Places: Buda, Marfa, El Paso, Big Bend, Hawaii, Alaska, house and home, my bedroom (my sanctuary), the beach, the mountains

Food I can’t live without: Peaches, watermelon, grapes, oranges, strawberries, blueberries, almonds, walnuts, pecans, honey, oatmeal, pizza, spaghetti, cucumbers, tomatoes, salads, salmon, chicken, ice cream, chocolate, tea, milk, coffee, mate cocido, Yerba mate, water, olive oil, lemons

Random: KLBJ-FM Dudley and Bob in the mornings, podcasts, YMCA, teachers, doctors, my little Buda church, wildflowers, flowers, trees, plants, Netflix, television bunny-ear antenna, NCIS (the TV show), music, Hawaiian music, campfires/fire-pit fires, slow cooker, The Dollar Tree, craft stores, horse riding lessons for my daughters, fireflies, butterflies, hummingbirds, cats, the Spanish language, voting, Irish stuff and things, travel, hiking, yoga, walking and sometimes even jogging.

Wow, that was cathartic and a little meditative. I should do a thankful brain dump more often. So many blessings to acknowledge!!

You try it! It might shift your perspective.

Happy Thanksgiving!!
